Advancing Professional Mentoring and Coaching for Individual, Institutional and National Development
Welcome to the official website of APMCN, a national professional association dedicated to advancing the knowledge, practice, professionalism and impact of mentoring and coaching in Nigeria.
A professional platform for people, institutions and the nation
APMCN provides a professional platform for qualified mentors, coaches, leadership development practitioners, human capital development professionals and individuals committed to personal growth, institutional excellence and sustainable national development.
Established through a vision to create a home-grown professional association with internationally relevant standards, APMCN promotes mentoring and coaching as strategic instruments for developing people, strengthening institutions, improving leadership effectiveness and advancing societal transformation.
The Association brings together professionals from public and private institutions, educational establishments, corporate organisations, professional bodies, civil society organisations, faith-based institutions and other sectors of society. Through professional networking, continuous learning, research, collaboration, advocacy and institutional engagement, APMCN seeks to strengthen the contribution of mentoring and coaching to human capital development, ethical leadership, entrepreneurship and national progress.
Our Commitment
We are committed to building a professional community where knowledge is shared, competencies are strengthened, ethical standards are upheld and professional relationships create lasting value.
APMCN — Building People, Strengthening Institutions and Creating Lasting Legacies.
Building a Cradle of Knowledge, Learning and Legacy
My founding philosophy is rooted in a commitment to building a cradle of knowledge, learning and legacy through professional mentoring and coaching. I believe that mentoring and coaching are powerful instruments for personal transformation, professional excellence, institutional development and national progress.
The establishment of APMCN emerged from a shared conviction among concerned and forward-thinking Nigerians that our nation required a home-grown professional association capable of advancing mentoring and coaching within our unique social, cultural, economic and institutional environments.
Our vision was to create a professional platform that would promote value reorientation, encourage responsible citizenship, strengthen ethical leadership and contribute to reducing social and behavioural challenges affecting individuals, families, organisations and communities.
We recognise that sustainable national development requires more than policies, infrastructure and financial resources. It requires people who are knowledgeable, responsible, competent, disciplined and committed to positive change. Mentoring and coaching provide structured opportunities to develop these qualities through learning, reflection, professional guidance, accountability and purposeful relationships.
APMCN was therefore conceived as a professional association through which individuals and institutions could collaborate to advance mentoring and coaching across education, governance, leadership, national security, politics, entrepreneurship, vocational development, family life, religion, citizenship, patriotism and other critical areas of national interest.
Our aspiration is to establish a respected professional community that encourages lifelong learning, promotes ethical practice, strengthens professional relationships and contributes meaningfully to national transformation. We seek to create opportunities for experienced professionals to transfer knowledge, nurture emerging talent, strengthen institutions and develop future generations of responsible leaders.
As we advance this vision, I invite mentors, coaches, professionals, institutions and development partners to join us in building a society where knowledge is valued, learning is continuous and positive legacies are deliberately created. Together, we can strengthen the practice of mentoring and coaching and expand its contribution to human development and national progress.
